Advanced Facials combine professional non-invasive tools and devices to customize treatments based on the client’s skin type, condition, concerns, and treatment goals. Students learn how multiple facial technologies can be used individually or strategically combined to cleanse, exfoliate, hydrate, improve product penetration, support skin firmness, reduce puffiness, calm the skin, and enhance overall skin appearance.

Course Structure

Hybrid | Self-Paced Online Theory + 1-Day In-Person Hands-On Training

This course combines online education with one day of in-person clinical training. Students must complete the required online theory before attending their scheduled hands-on training day.

Online Portion:

Students complete the course theory through the LVLAI student portal at their own pace. Online access is available for 12 months and includes narrated theory lessons, downloadable course materials, instructor reviews and demonstrations, treatment protocols, case studies, and knowledge assessments.

Students learn the theory, benefits, candidate selection, contraindications, safety considerations, treatment protocols, and proper use of the advanced facial modalities covered in this course.

1-Day In-Person Training:

The training day begins with a review of key concepts and instructor demonstrations, followed by supervised hands-on practice on a live model.

Students will perform a customized advanced facial using multiple modalities selected according to the model’s skin type, condition, contraindications, and treatment goals.

Because only one primary mechanical exfoliation method should be selected for the treatment, students will perform either Hydrodermabrasion or Diamond Microdermabrasion on their model, as appropriate. Both techniques are taught in the course and demonstrated by the instructor.

High Frequency is taught through course theory and instructor demonstration and is not included as a required student-performed modality on the live model.

Student-performed modalities may vary based on the model’s individual skin assessment and treatment plan. This allows students to learn an important part of advanced facial practice: selecting appropriate modalities rather than performing every device on every client.

Advanced Facials Specialist Certification

Students receive a La Vida Laser & Aesthetics Institute Certificate of Completion upon successful completion of the required online education and in-person hands-on training.
